Start with the filters. If you are comparing schools for a decision (like choosing a school or identifying strong peer examples), filter by province and district first. Schools operate under different local conditions, and within‑district comparisons are often more meaningful than national comparisons. Quintile filters add socio‑economic context; compare within similar quintiles when you want a fairer view of performance relative to constraints.

Next, choose the right time horizon. A specific year is useful for “what happened this year?” but it can be volatile, especially for smaller cohorts. The “All Years (Average)” view helps you see the typical performance over time. Once you find a school of interest, drill into its history to see whether the school is consistently strong, improving, or fluctuating.
